We experienced ten days of inspired writing, delicious meals, and profound connection at Molino del Rey, set in the beautiful nature reserve of Andalucía “Sierra de las Nieves” in Southern Spain.

This retreat welcomed writers of all backgrounds and levels of confidence. Writers were offered prompts to whet their creative appetite and receive feedback on the strengths of their freshly generated work. No critique and no pressure, only the thrill of witnessing their own unique voice stretch and strengthen.

Imagine waking up to the citrus scent of lemons and oranges and the sound of a spring-fed waterfall. Stretch your muscles and still your mind with Esana’s meditative and gentle morning yoga practice before breakfast, then join your writing compatriots in the shade to share your words in a circle of generous, respectful listeners. The day doesn’t end with the fabulous vegetarian dinner made with locally sourced produce, but is followed by an evening salon to read, discuss elements of craft, and chat about what stirs your soul. One day after lunch, an optional trip to the ancient city of Ronda to experience its rich history, indulge in some tapas, and take in a flamenco experience.

This isn’t just a writing retreat—it’s an unforgettable experience.

Don’t “do” yoga?

No worries – this is a gentle, yin practice for all bodies. No prior experience or skill is necessary to reap the restorative benefits.

Don’t consider yourself a “writer”?

No worries. If you want to write, like to write, think you can’t write, or have been writing your entire life, the Amherst Writers & Artists method of facilitation invites experimentation in a supportive atmosphere for writers at all levels of confidence and experience.

Fees

Program- $1195 USD per person*

INCLUDES:
- Gentle, morning yin yoga practice led by Esana.
- Daily guided writing practice offered by Deepam (Susan Wadds) in the AWA (Amherst Writers & Artists) method.
- Optional individual written & in-person feedback on up to 10 pages of written work submitted in advance.
- Optional transfer from Malaga Airport to Molino del Rey.

Meals & Accommodation: *

Rates start at 1160 Euros for shared accommodation. A private room is 1640 Euros.~ to be paid on arrival at Molino del Rey. Cash or Wise are preferred. If you plan to use a credit card, an additional 1.5% is charged.
Includes all meals, unlimited coffee, tea, juice, & snacks. (All locally sourced & vibrantly healthy vegetarian).

EXTRA:
- Wine, beer, soft drinks
- Day trip to Ronda to visit spots frequented by Hemingway and Rilke, tapas, and a flamenco show.
- Travel from Molino del Rey on the final day.
